About Us

We are two sisters with master’s degrees in pharmacy and cell biology from the University of Copenhagen. As part of our family business, we are launching SUKO Nordic Australia, a new chapter of SUKO Nordic Denmark.

While working on our Master’s theses, we both spent time in Sydney, where we fell in love with Australia’s active, nature-driven lifestyle. From surfing and yoga to tennis, cycling, and a food culture centred on clean eating and natural self-care. We recognized many parallels to Scandinavian values but were especially inspired by how Australians embrace health and beauty from the inside out.

As daughters of the founders of SUKO Nordic in Denmark, we continue the family mission of bringing science-based and plant-powered health products to people and animals. With SUKO Nordic Australia, we carry this mission forward by combining Danish quality with Australia’s vibrant, health-focused lifestyle and offering supplements that boost recovery and lasting wellbeing.

Our Story

SUKO Nordic was founded by two molecular biologists and Max Planck PhD graduates Monica Takamiya Wik and Peter Kristoffersen, with a vision to create high-quality, organic health products made naturally and sustainably.

Our rosehip products are based on the unique AP-4® variety of Rosa canina, grown in certified organic plantations in Southern Chile with full traceability and strict quality control.

As a family-owned company, SUKO Nordic has grown from Denmark to international markets, with its rosehip products becoming a top seller in Germany and awarded Product of the Year already two years after launch.

Today, the next generation continues the journey, bringing Nordic expertise and natural ingredients into the Australian
lifestyle. Discover more at our Danish website here.

Isabel Takamiya Kristoffersen (MSc in Pharmacy)

I hold a master’s degree in Pharmacy and completed my thesis at the University of Sydney, specializing in epilepsy. I have always been passionate about both mental and physical health, which I believe are deeply connected. My pharmaceutical background has given me a solid understanding of how the body functions and how natural supplements support long-term wellbeing.

At SUKO Nordic Australia, I combine my pharmaceutical expertise with natural health approaches, committed to helping people and animals live healthier lives.
I live my values every day by running, strength training, and playing tennis, while eating a balanced diet and choosing simple, natural solutions whenever possible. I’m driven to make a real difference through safe, plant-based supplements that support long-term health and promote
longevity.

Amanda Takamiya Kristoffersen (MSc in Cell biology)

With a master’s degree in Cell Biology and Physiology, I have focused my academic and personal journey on understanding how
physical activity and nutrition improve health at the cellular level by regulating energy metabolism, strengthening antioxidant defences, and supporting immune function.

My research background includes studying how aging and lifestyle-related diseases impair metabolism across tissues, primarily in muscle, and how exercise can counteract these effects using both mouse models and human
studies.

I live an active lifestyle with strength training, cycling, and tennis, supported by a
recovery-focused diet rich in whole foods and plant-based nutrients that promote recovery and cellular health. Through SUKO Nordic Australia, I aim to bring science-backed, natural supplements to a market that
values preventive health, longevity, and everyday wellbeing.
